Our team published a peer-reviewed article about Möbius, our AI whale detection solution, in Frontiers in Marine Sciences. We found that Möbius outputs shows significant agreement with human observers, and saves up to biologists 97% of annotation time!

Whale Seeker has been awarded a $529,000 contract with Innovative Solutions Canada. We will be testing and scaling Möbius, our AI-powered system for visual whale detection. We are collaborating with Fisheries and Oceans Canada to process 100,000 images from recent and historic aerial surveys, including from the Last Ice Area.

Whale Seeker, Edgewise Environmental, and Black Bawks are joining forces to make waves in marine conservation. We are thrilled to announce this collaborative project and advancement of marine conservation efforts.

The Whale Carbon Plus Project

Whale Seeker is partnering with diverse ocean stakeholders in industry, government and conservation to develop a framework for tracking the blue carbon value of whales.

Whale Seeker was named a finalist in not one, but two Ocean Exchange award categories this year! Our CEO Emily pitched Whale Seeker’s automated whale detection technology at the Ocean Exchange event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Möbius, our flagship automated whale detection solution, is the runner up in the 2022 BOAT International Ocean Awards! We are thrilled to be featured alongside other incredible technologies that improve ocean health for the Innovation Award.

Whale Seeker was invited to speak at Monaco Ocean Week. Our CEO, Emily Charry Tissier, spoke on the Ocean Innovators Platform on March 23rd, about blue carbon and whales’ roles in ocean and climate health.

Our very own Emily Tissier and Bertrand Charry collaborated with three amazing researchers, Drs. Cortney Watt, Marianne Marcoux, and John Iacozza, on a case study to detect medium-sized cetaceans from satellite images - and it got published!
